Speakers at a programme said there was no alternative to training to enhance professional skills among the youths and make them enlightened citizens of the county.
They also put emphasis on equipping the youths with modern knowledge for making them worthy citizens of the nation.
They made the observations in the inaugural session of a three-day youth leadership training at Caritas conference hall in the city yesterday.
The Hunger Project Bangladesh (THPB) organised the training. Funded by British Council, a project titled “Promoting Democratic Inclusion and
Governance through Youths (PRODIGY)” supported the training. A total of 36 youths, including 18 female, joined the course.
Md Quamruzzaman, ward councilor of Rajshahi City Corporation, joined the session as the chief guest.
The chief guest said importance should be given on generating community leadership from among the youths to bring a qualitative change everywhere in the society.
With Principal of Shaheed Mamun Mahmud Police Lines School and College Dr Golam Mawla in the chair, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank Mustafizur Rahman, THPB’s Regional Coordinator Shashanka Baron Roy and Field Coordinator (Monitoring and Operations) Subrata Kumar Paul also spoke at the event, reports BSS, Rajshahi.
