Prof Dr M Monowar Hossain, executive director of Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) has been conferred Asia Water Leadership Award, 2016 for his outstanding contributions to the society.
He received the award at a ceremony held at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Marina Square, in Singapore on Friday, said a IWM press release on Sunday.
The award was conferred through a process undertaken by a research cell for short-listed candidates who contributes extraordinarily in their respective fields of expertise with track record of achievements, it said.
Dr Hossain, also former dean of Buet’s Faculty of Civil Engineering, has been considered for the award for surpassing several levels of excellence, setting an example of being a role model and exemplary leadership.
The award was presented by the World Water Congress, CMO Asia with CMO Council as its Strategic Partner and Stars of the Industry Group as a research partner.
