Professor Dr Farzana Islam, Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU), has been reappointed as JU Vice-Chancellor for four-year term.
In accordance with the order of President Abdul Hamid, a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Dinnat Rehana confirmed it on Sunday.
The release said, ‘the duration of new tenure will be valid for the next four years after ending the present term’.
President will be able to cancel the appointment order at anytime, it added.
Earlier, Professor Farzana Islam took charge as the Vice-Chancellor of JU on March 2014.
Born in Bhedorganj Upazila of Shariatpur district in 1957, she completed her Master’s degree in sociology from the Dhaka University (DU) in 1980.
