Leading communication expert and former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Tuesday said newsmen must practice fair and objective journalism in their professional pursuit.
“A section of mass-media is demonstrating unfair journalism in the name of information . . . but there is no alternative to fair and objective journalism,” Prof Arefin told the concluding session of a three-day training programme for district correspondents of the state-run national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) at PIB here.
He urged all concerned to remain alert against the quarter who was trying to hinder the development activities of the government in many ways.
Prof Arefin further called upon the media people to dig out the corruptions at different levels, including the administrative sector, in the society through their reporting.
Managing Director and Chief Editor of the BSS Abul Kalam Azad underscored the need for continued training for newsmen for upgrading their excellence.
