Prof Abul Kalam Azad of IU passes away

Professor Dr M Abul Kalam Azad of Economics Department at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia died of blood cancer at Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital in Kolkata, India on Sunday night at the age of 61.
He left behind wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives, admirers to mourn his death, said an IU press release on Monday. Azad’s body will be brought at the university today and later his namaz-e-janaza will be held there.
He will be buried at his family graveyard in Meherpur, the release added. Besides, IU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari expressed his deep shock at the death of Professor Azad. In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
