Probe body starts investigation on corruption in Ctg Port

 Investigation over alleged corruptions in six projects of the Chittagong Port has began yesterday .
Parliamentary Standing Committee on Shipping Ministry has launched the investigation over the much- talked corruptions in Chittagong Port’s project, a reliable sources said.
 Convenor of the probe sub-committee and local legislator of Chittagong Patenga constituency MA Latif led the investigation team at Bandar Bhaban yesterday.
 The committee members including the convenor MA Latif MP physically visited the sites of the projects.
The other two members are : Md. Nurul Islam MP, and Md.Anowarul Azim MP . During the visit of the sub-committee , local legislators ABM Fazle Karim and Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury were also present, sources said.
 After the site visit of the projects, MA Latif MP briefed the journalists at Bandar Bhaban and said their investigations over the alleged corruptions will continue and we have six specific allegations . He also said necessary papers over the project implementations will be called immediately and we now just completed our physical inventory. He further said the investigation will be completely quickly as soon as possible.
 While contacted Chairman of CPA Rear Admiral Nizamuddin told the journalists that all project activities were implemented through complying the instructions of govt purchase policy with transparently and it is obvious that allegations may come in any big deal like this.
He further said probe committee has visited the three purchased old ships, procured ambulance ship of Tk.20 cr automation of container management installations, erection of marine navigation technology and irregularities in manpower employment for CPA, sources said.
