Probe body over assaulting journo by Rupali Bank CBA formed

The authorities of Rupali Bank formed a probe body over the incident of assaulting Senior Journalist Ahmed Tofael by the Central Bargaining Association (CBA) leaders of the bank on Tuesday.
The body was asked to submit the report to the Board of Directors of the bank within a short time, Deputy Managing Director (Administration)
Md Khalilur Rahman told it to the reporters on Tuesday.
He said that the incident had been informed to the Finance Ministry and Bangladesh Bank (BB) based on the directives of the board of directors.
The bank official said that the authority concerned would take proper steps against the offenders based on the report.
At least 25 journalists in the banking sectors from various newspapers and electronic media, protested the incident and demanded the exemplary punishment to the accused in the incident after meeting with the bank’s Managing Director (MD) M Farid Uddin and its General Manager (Administration) Hosne Ara Begum.
The incident took place at the head office of the bank in the city’s Motijheel area on November 20. The victim has been identified as Ahmed Tofael, a Senior Reporter of the Daily Bartaman, sources said.
