The human chain and rally organised by BNP lawyers protesting ‘enforced leave’ of Chief Justice, foiled by AL supporter lawyers on Monday noon. Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum backed by BNP organised the programme on the premises of Shaheed Abdur Rob Serniabad Auditorium of district bar association at 1:00 PM Monday. The programme was organized as per call of the central committee of the organisation, said Advocate Ali Haider Babul, joint secretary of city BNP. However, after standing with the banner to form human chain, AL backed lawyers of Awami Ainjibi Parishad tried to snatch the banner of BNP lawyers. Both group engaged in dashing and pushing and so the human chain programme foiled at the premise. The pro-BNP lawyers then tried to hold a protest rally at the same premises. But it also foiled as AL backed lawyers went there started to chant slogans which were countered by BNP backed lawyers created tensions in the area.
Tagore Narottam Das Fest begins in Godagari

A three-day-long Tagore Narottam Das’s Tiruvab Tithi festival has started on Monday. This festival iss organised every year in the traditional Gourangbari temple of Godagari upazila of Rajshahi. According to the devotees, Thakur Narottam Das is the symbol of love-loving Maharaj and non-violence. The three-day ceremony begins on Monday evening with a good residence. the program will be concluded on the first day at the Dadhimangal Bay-Prachanda through Arati and Mahantabidha On Oct 10. The planning of Gourangdev Trust Board meeting at the Upazila administration has finalized. UNO Mohammad Zahid Newaz said around five kilometers of security around the festival, the security system has been strengthened. The fair courts and many of the Trust Board’s own volunteer forces will be on the field to celebrate the festival and festivals.
Volleyball tournament ends at Saidpur

Final of volleyball tournament organised by Upazila Sports Association of Saidpur, Nilphamari ended through an exciting and romantic match. In the final, Rupali Krira Chakra beat Saidpur Railway Divisional Sports Association (DSA) at 5-4. The match was played on Sunday at Saidpur Stadium Ground. Chairman of Nilphamari District Council Joynal Abedin was the Chief Guest of the Conclusion Program. Chairman of Saidpur Upazila Parishad Moksedul Momin and Mayor of Saidpur Municipality Amjad Hossain Sarkar was the Special Guest of the Final Tournament. UNO and President of Upazila Sports Association of Saidpur Md. Bazlur Rashid Presided over the programme. The other Guests attended the Program were AC Land Ahmed Mahbubul Islam, General Secretary of Upazila Sports Association Md. Mozammel Haq, Acting President of Pouro Awami League Rafiqul Islam Babu, Former Chairman of Saidpur Municipality Alhaj Bakhtiar Kabir and Officer in charge of Saidpur Thana Md. Monirul Islam. The program was conducted by the Joint Secretary of Saidpur Upazila Sports Association Jobaydur Rahman Shaheen. In the exciting final match, Rupali Krira Chakra defeated Railway Divisional Sports Association in 5-4. Rishikesh Biswas (Horosit), declared as the best player from the Runners-up Team. Later, the Chief Guest with the other Guest Presented the trophy and the prize money to the Champion and Runners-up team.
