Pro-BNP lawyers on Thursday formed a human chain on the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) premises protesting the “attack on them” during their programme on Wednesday.
The lawyers led by SCBA President and BNP Vice-Chairman Advocate Zainul Abedin organised a meeting on the Bar Association premises from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Advocate Zainul Abedin condemned the “attack” on the pro-BNP lawyers during their court boycott programme on Wednesday.
He urged the lawyers to unite to protect the independence and image of the judiciary.
On Wednesday, pro-BNP lawyers of the Supreme Court observed the court boycott programe at the Supreme Court from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm disagreeing with the High Court verdict that enhanced the punishment of BNP Chief Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust case.
