A prisoner died of cardiac arrest in Kishoreganj District Jail on Saturday. The victim was identified as Dhan Mia (50), son of Jaher Miah in krishnagar village on Bhairab Upazila of Kishoreganj.
Jail Super (JS) in Kishoreganj Bazlur Rashid told the New Nation that Prisoner Dhan Miah fell sick due to chest pain on Saturday afternoon and sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital critical condition while duty doctors pronounced dead him.
He has been lodged in jail since March 13 as an accused in a murder case filed at Bhairab police station, Jail Super (JS) added.
The body was sent to morgue for autopsy. A UD case was filled in this connection with Kishoreganj Model Police Station.
