The jail authorities is set to begin the Prison Week, 2017, from February 26 aimed at creating awareness among the prisoners to help them in returning to normal life after rehabilitating them in the society .
This year’s slogan is “Prisoners Correction, Society Rehabilitation”.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan is expected to inaugurate the week.
at Kashimpur Jail Complex around 11am on February 26, Additional Inspector General of Prisons Colonel Md. Iqbal Hasan told BSS on Wednesday afternoon.
Marking the Week, the prison authorities is going to hold different programmes such as parade, blood donation, festivals with goods produced by the jail inmates and awareness meetings at the 68 jails across the country, he also said.
The prison authority will organize a press conference around 3pm tomorrow to elaborate the detail programmes marking the week.
