A prison van carrying 24 prisoners overturned on Moghbazar-Mouchak flyover near Saat Rasta intersection in the city on Friday.
Abdur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station, said the prison van turned turtle on the flyover as its driver lost control over steering while heading towards Kashimpur Jail from Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj around 10:45 am.
Some prisoners and policemen sustained slight injures in the accident and were given first aid.
However, the prisoners were taken to Tejgaon Industrial Police Station and later sent to Kashimpur jail in another prison van, said the OC.
