‘Int’l cheque forgery syndicate’ members held

UNB, Dhaka :Police in a drive arrested two alleged members of international cheque forgery syndicate from separate areas of the capital on Thursday and early Friday.The arrestees were identified as Asif Rahman, 25, and Khalequzzaman Rana, 30, a buying house owner.Abdul Bari, sub-inspector of Gulshan Police Station, said Asif and Rana had been maintaining an account with the Gulshan branch of Standard Chartered Bank since 2013.They, in the meantime, withdrew 40,000 US dollars from the bank account using fake cheques.Officials...
