Prime Finance gets ICSB National Gold Award

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) has recently awarded ‘Gold Award’ Prime Finance and Investment Limited (PFIL) at a city hotel.
 PFIL secured top position under non-banking financial institutions category. This is for the 2nd time that PFIL has bagged Award for ensuring and promoting corporate governance in their running of business.
Twenty-eight listed companies were awarded for ‘Promoting Governance Excellence’ in 2014. This is the 2nd accolade for the country’s listed companies, presented by Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB).
The awards were given on ten different categories having three awards in each category. The categories were banking, non- banking financial institutions, insurance, pharmaceutical and chemicals, textile and RMG, food and allied IT telecom and services, engineering, manufacturing, fuel and power.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith MP graced the occasion as the chief guest and handed over the awards to the winners, while Prof Dr M Khairul Hossain, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and Hedayetullah Al Mamun, Senior Secretary of Commerce Ministry were present as special guest. Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS presided over the Award ceremony.
The main motto of this year’s ICSB National Award was to encourage and promote governing excellence in the corporate sectors of Bangladesh, to motivate the business entities and their leaders to make further improvement in governance excellence and to facilitate corporate houses to be competitive in the global arena.
It may be mentioned here that ICSB is a premier national professional Institute established under Chartered Secretaries Act 2010 to expand the corporate management and governance in the registered companies of Bangladesh. They are conducting two and half year’s course that are producing qualified company secretaries for promoting governing excellence. The company secretaries are skilled professionals on governance and compliance issues worldwide.
