Bangladesh Cricket League: Prime Bank take 31-run lead against Walton on first day

Prime Bank South Zone took 31 runs first innings lead against Walton Central Zone on the first day of the four-day match of Bangladesh Cricket League at BKSP ground-3 in Savar on Saturday.
Sent into bat first, Walton Central Zone were all out for 165 runs in 39.4 overs with skipper Mahmudullah scoring 36 runs off 61 balls, featuring four fours and a six.
Lower order Nurul Hasan made 32 runs in 33 balls featuring four fours and a six while opener Shahriar Nafees added 30 runs off 36 balls, hitting six boundaries.
Shohag Gazi claimed four wickets for 67 runs, national spinner cum Prime Bank skipper Abdur Razzak captured three wickets for 44 runs while Rubel Hossain took two wickets for 33 runs.
In reply, Prime Bank South Zone scored 196 for 7 in 48 overs at the end of the first day with Mithun quick-firing 88 runs off 89 balls, featuring six fours and seven sixes. Taiabur Parvez made 31 runs off 82 balls with three fours and a six.
Skipper Mahmudullah bowled superbly to claim five wickets for 72 runs in 19 overs. Elias Sunny and Shahadat Hossain took one wicket each for 31 and 36 runs respectively.

In the day’s other match at BKSP ground 2, Islami Bank East Zone scored 261 runs for 8 in 81 overs in the first innings on the first day against BCB North Zone with two down Mominul Haque contributing 94 runs off 116 balls featuring 10 fours and two sixes.
Besides, Alok Kapali hammered an unconquered 52 runs off 113 balls with five boundaries, one down Rajin Saleh scored 38 runs off 99 deliveries with six boundaries while Islami Bank skipper Tamim Iqbal scored 24 runs off 49 balls, including four fours.
Taijul Islam bowled devastatingly to grab seven BCB North Zone wickets for 67 runs in his 32 overs spell while Tanvir Haider took one wicket for 39 runs playing 12 overs.
