Prime Bank ease past Abahani in Super League of DPL

Prime Bank Cricket Club eased past Dhaka Abahani Limited by 142 runs in their first Super League match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Monday.
Sent into bat first, Prime Bank Cricket Club piled up a satisfactory total of 273 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs and then, skittled out Dhaka Abahani Limited for 131 off 32.4 overs.
Opener Anamul Haque of Prime Bank Cricket Club notched up a superb 77. His 85-ball innings was decorated with three sixes and five fours. Anamul Haque was adjudged the Man of the Match for his superb batting display.
Mohammad Mithun played a captain’s knock of 44. His 59-ball innings saw five fours.
Fourth-down Yasir Ali hit a run-a-ball 43. He cracked three fours and a sixer.
Shahadat Hossain, the other opener of Prime Bank Cricket Club, made 38 from 51 balls featuring three sixes and two fours.
Fifth-down Mahedi Hasan remained unbeaten with 34. His 27-ball knock was laced with four fours.
Dhananjaya de Silva of Dhaka Abahani Limited grabbed three wickets at the cost of 57 runs, while Mohammad Saifuddin bagged two wickets instead of 35 runs.
Arafat Sunny, Tanvir Islam and Shohidul Islam got one wicket each conceding 37, 53 and 60 runs respectively.
Later, Mosaddek Hossain of Dhaka Abahani Limited hit a captain’s knock of 65. His 57-ball innings was decorated with three sixes and seven fours.
Opener Liton Das scored 23 from 30 balls with four fours.
Rakibul Hasan and Nasir Hossain captured three wickets each giving 18 and 33 runs respectively.
Mahedi Hasan and Taijul Islam claimed two wickets each for 19 and 42 runs respectively.
