The prices of vegetables, green chilli, ginger and garlic has increased by Tk10 to 20 per kilogram in the city markets on Friday. But that of hilsha, broiler chicken and meat fell by Tk 20 to 25 per kg.
Tomato was selling at Tk 40 to Tk 50 per kg, brinjal at Tk 45 to 55, snake gourd at Tk 50, bitter gourd at Tk 30 to Tk 40, french at Tk 50, okra Tk 50 to 60, cucumber at Tk 25 to 35, potato at Tk 15 to 20, horse raddish at 40 to 50, carrot at Tk 40 to 46, radish at Tk 30, turnip at Tk 25, pea at Tk 40 to 50, cauliflower at Tk 30 to 40 per piece, cabbage at Tk 20 per piece, teasel gourd at Tk 60, zucchini at Tk 50 to 60, gourd at Tk 40 to 60, ash gourd at Tk 30 to 40 based on size and coriander leaves at Tk 250 per kg, green chilli at Tk 60 to 70, bean at Tk 25 to 30, capsicum (red) at Tk 650 kg capsicum (green) at Tk 300 to 400.
Imported ginger was selling at Tk 260 to 280 per kg while local product at Tk 240 to 250 per kg, onion at Tk 28 to30. The Chinese garlic was
selling at Tk 75 and the local one at Tk 70. Damage of vegetables due to nor’western in many regions of the country contributed to the rise of price, said vegetables’ traders.
The broiler was selling at Tk 140 to 145, the local fowl at Tk 400 to 550 per kg, beef Tk 290 while mutton or red meat at 450 per kg and duck was at Tk 350 to 380 per kg, pigeon at Tk 260 two pieces.
As for rice price, Minicate was selling at Tk 50 to 56, nazirshail at Tk 53 to 62, the Lata at Tk 40-44, BR-28 at Tk 45 to 47 per kg, coarse variety at Tk 40-42 and aromatic rice at Tk 95 to 120 per kg, Swarna at Tk 35-37 per kg, traders said.
Hilsha price has fallen and it was selling at Tk 700 to Tk 750 per piece weighing 750 to 800 gram. size at Barbal and the scorpion fish were selling at Tk 700 to Tk 800 per kilo each, ruhit at Tk 280 to 450, carp at Tk 230 to Tk 400, lobster at Tk 1,000 to 1,200, pangas at Tk 170 to 200, tilapia at Tk 180 to Tk 230, mola for Tk 250, climbing fish at Tk 250 to 600, lata at Tk 200 to Tk 300, tatkini at Tk 230 to Tk 250, sheat fish at Tk 300 to Tk 500, small fry fish for Tk 250 and butter fish at Tk 660 to Tk 700. Sea fishes Marcel at Tk 250 to 270, Surma fish at Tk 280 to 340. Besides, the price of different kinds of dry fishes also increased by about Tk 20 to 50 per kg.
