President M Abdul Hamid, who is on a nine-day visit to London for health checkup and treatment of eyes, reached British capital on Saturday afternoon (local time).
Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury, Press Minister of Bangladesh High Commission in London, confirmed the news tonight.
He said, “A VVIP flight (BG-001) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited carrying the President arrived at Heathrow International Airport, London around 3:36 pm (London time) on Saturday.”
The President was received by Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem at the airport. Abdul Hamid is scheduled to have his checkup at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London.
President Hamid left Hazrat Shahjalal ® International Airport at 9:45 am on Saturday for London by an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited.
