President, PM greet RAB on its founding anniversary

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in separate messages on the eve of the 11th founding anniversary of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) greeted all members of the elite force and wished their continued success and prosperity.
In his message, President Abdul Hamid recalled with profound respect members of RAB who made the supreme sacrifice while performing their duties to maintain law and order.
“I pray for eternal peace of their departed souls,” he said.
The President said from the very beginning, the RAB earned appreciation of the people for its professional attitude and efficiency and for playing a significant role in prevention of militancy, maintaining law and order and protecting people’s lives and properties.
Referring to RAB’s success in curbing serious crimes of different kinds, the President expressed his firm conviction that the force would sustain its success in future too.
He hoped that all members of RAB would play more effective roles in country’s overall development by upholding the spirit of the Liberation War and maintaining law and order with patriotism, efficiency, devotion and honesty.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her message said peace-loving Bangladesh is now a role model of development in the world.
“We are advancing further facing all challenges,” she said and hoped all members of RAB would work with the highest level of professionalism in checking terrorism, militancy and sabotages.
They would also play an important role in implementing ‘Vision 2021’ and ‘Vision 2041’ to build ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by the greatest Bangalee of all times and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Prime Minister appreciated the success of RAB in prevention of terrorism, abduction and food adulteration, controlling narcotic and recovering illegal arms and ammunitions.
Particularly, RAB has become a symbol of peace, security and confidence for its role in recovering illegal arms and preventing the activities of militant outfits, she said.
