President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday has expressed deep shock at the death of Syed Wahidul Islam, acting president of Kishoreganj Awami League and uncle of public administration minister Syed Ashraful Islam.
In a condolence message, the President said the nation has lost a patriotic political leader in the death of Wahidul Islam, younger brother of acting President of the country’s first interim government in exile Syed Nazrul Islam, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS over telephone from Singapore.
“It is an irreparable loss to the nation,” said the President who is now in Singapore for checkup.
Hamid prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the members of bereaved family.
