President for increasing relations with Philippines

President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday put emphasis on increasing bilateral relations with Far East Asian nation the Philippines in potential sectors. “The relations between Bangladesh and the Philippines are now being expanded to many areas through the enhanced cooperation including trade and investment, science and technology and culture and youth sector,” he said.
The President made the remark when newly appointed Ambassador of the Philippines to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio Tejamo Bandillo presented his credentials to him at Bangabhaban here.
Welcoming the new envoy at Bangabhaban, the President expressed his satisfaction over the existing excellent bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the Philippines and hoped that it will be further increased in the days to come. The Philippines envoy assured the President that he would try to further increase the trade and commerce relations between Bangladesh and the Philippines.
He sought cooperation of the President in discharging his new assignment here.
Concerned secretaries of the President Office and foreign secretary were present.
Earlier on his arrival at Bangabhaban, the new Ambassador was given a guard of honor by a smart contingent of the President’s Guard Regiment.
