President for developing world standard BUTEX curriculum

President M Abdul Hamid asked Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) authorities to maintain the international standard in fixing its academic curriculum as a delegation of the university paid a courtesy call on him on Thursday at Bangabhaban here.
The President called for developing time-befitting curriculum of the BUTEX so that its graduates can maintain the international standard in days to come, President’s Press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed the reporters after the meeting.
The President said that country’s textile, jute and readymade garments (RMG) sectors are the largest industrial sectors that earn a major portion of the country’s export income.
Noting that the trend of dress-designing and fashion across the globe is changing every day, President Hamid also urged the university authority to take pragmatic step to impart training to the students on marketing and designing.
The delegation led by BUTEX Vice-Chancellor Professor Abul Kashem apprised the President of their overall activities, including development works and infrastructure progress.
Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, was invited by the VC to preside over the maiden convocation of BUTEX.
Engineer Md. Mozaffar Hossain, MP, and secretaries concerned to the President were also present on the occasion.
