The President Cup Fencing Championship starts tomorrow at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.
Bangladesh Fencing Association will arrange the five-day long fencing competition.
Regarding the ensuing fencing meet, a press conference was held at the conference room in the National Sports Council on Sunday.
President of Bangladesh Fencing Association (BFA) M Shoeb Chowdhury, General Secretary of BFA Major (Retd) Qamrul Islam and Executive Member of BFA Md Rezaur Rahman were present at the conference.
Minister for Information Hasanul Haq Inu will inaugurate the fencing meet tomorrow as the chief guest.
Around 200 fencers (Male & Female) from Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP, Dhaka Commerce College, Quantum (Bandarban) School & College, Mirpur Cosmo School & College, Mirpur Fencing Club, Mirpur Die Hard, Rajshahi Fencing Association will take part in the fencing meet.
Sadesh Chandana from Sri Lanka and Abhishek Karki from Nepal will conduct the fencing competition.
The fencing meet will come to an end on December 30.
