President M Abdul Hamid on Sunday asked the participants of National Defence Course (NDC) and Armed Forces War Course (AFWC) to utilise their acquired knowledge to accelerate the development process in the country.
“The year-long course at NDC would help you make a huge difference and set examples for others . . . It would provide a fresh impetus to accomplish further development programmes,” he told the graduates of the NDC and AFW course-2019 at Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban here.
Congratulating course members for their successful completion of the courses, the President said, “I believe that this is an outstanding course, ranging from national security to national development, leadership to policy making that will enrich your professional knowledge and give you more confidence in discharging your duties.”
The head of the state also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to 31 foreign participants of 16 countries for joining and successfully completing the important course at NDC, the prestigious institution of Armed Forces.
“During your year-long stay in Bangladesh, I believe, you have acquired invaluable knowledge and experience which will enlighten you in the days to come,” the President added.
President Hamid hoped that the foreign participants would be the ‘good-will ambassadors’ of Bangladesh upon returning to their respective countries from here.
A total of 159 participants, including 31 from 16 states, completed the year-long courses at NDC here this year.
At the outset of his speech, the President recalled with profound respect the architect of country’s independence Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and also paid his deep homage to the martyrs and valiant sons of the soil, who made supreme sacrifices in the war of liberation.
Referring to the birth centenary celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2020 and the Golden Jubilee celebration of the country’s independence in 2020, Abdul Hamid called upon all to celebrate these two magnificent events in a gorgeous manner.
NDC Commandant Lieutenant General Sheikh Mamun Khaled also spoke on the occasion.
Secretaries concerned to the President, high-ranking civil and military officials, faculties, staff officers, and course members of NDC and AFWC, among others, were present on the occasion.
