Prennoy of Bangladesh ranks 22nd in Youth Olympics Archery

Prennoy Murong of Bangladesh finished 22nd among 32 competitors in the first round of the men’s recurve individual of the 2nd Summer Youth Olympics Games Archery at Fangshan Archery Field of Nanjing, China on Friday.
In the 1st round Prennoy scored 646 — 317 in 1st half and 329 in 2nd half.
The lone Bangladeshi archer, Prennoy Murong, will play in the elimination round on August 23 against Bradley Denny of Great Britain who finished 11th scoring 616 in the first round.
Woo Seok Lee of South Korea topped the list among 32 competitors scoring 704.
Of the 28 disciplines of sports in the Youth Olympics, Bangladesh are competing in five disciplines — Hockey, Shooting, Swimming, Archery and Weightlifting.
Earlier, Bangladesh also displayed dismal performance in the other four disciplines of sports.
Bangladesh Youth Hockey team lost in all the four Pool A matches — 1-9 goals against Spain, 2-5 goals against Australia, 1-4 goals against Canada and 3-4 goals against South Africa.
In the men’s 50 metre freestyle, Bangladeshi swimmer Mohammad Asif Reza finished 34th among the 52 competitors.
In the Women’s 10 metre air rifles, shooter Sharmin Akhter miserably finished 19th among the 20.
Bangladeshi lifter Jahura Akhter Reshma became 10th among the 11 lifters in the Women’s 48 kg category.
