Bisla secures 1-run win for Brothers Union

An all-round performance came from Brothers Union India recruit Manvinder Bisla enabled them to manage a nail-biting one-run victory over Victoria Sporting Club in the tenth round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Saturday at BKSP ground no 4 in Savar.
Chasing a winning target of 236 runs set by Bothers Union Club, Victoria were restricted at 234 for in 50 overs.
Despite a good start by two Brothers openers Uttam Sarkar (49) and Rubel Mia (26) the remaining batsmen failed to accelerate the run rate in the face of tight bowling attancks by the Bothers bowlers.
Moinul Islam (41), Abu Sayem (34) and Saiful Haiyet were the other notable scorers for Victoria.
Bisla, who was named the player of the match, picked up three Victoria’s wickets for 39 runs while Iftekhar Sajjad bagged two wickets giving away 33 runs.
Earlier, Bisla scored a responsible 78-run knock to help his to post a decent total of 235 for all in 49.1 overs, after they were forced to bat first by Victoria Sporting Club.
The right handed batsman Bisla hit three over boundaries and thre boundaries during his 87-bvall stay on the crease and shared. He also paired two important partnership during his way to batting.
He first shared 50-run stand with his skipper Alok Kapali (35) for the fourth wicket stand and then paired another 101-run partnership with Mysukur Rahman (38) to take his team closer of two hundred runs landmark.
Monir Hossain was the most successful bowler as he grabbed five wickets conceding 38 runs. He was well supported by Mahbubul Alam who claimed three wickets for 57 runs.
Besides, Moinul Islam finished two for 42.

Raza stars of Rupganj’s 5-wicket win

Raza Ali Dar fell one run short from century, but Legends of Rupganj managed an overwhelming five-wicket victory over Partex Sporting Club in the tenth round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Saturday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
The Pakistani recruited left handed batsman Raza hit 10 boundaries and one over boundary during his 99-ball stay on the crease and shared 182-run third wicket stand with Mahmudul Hasan who chipped way 70 runs.
Skipper Naeem Islam (36 n.o) sealed the victory along with Yasir Ali (3 n.o) with four balls remaining.
Mamun Hossain bagged two wickets 42 runs.
Raza Ali of Rupganj was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
Earlier Partex Sporting Club scored a competitive total of 272 for 9 in stipulated 50 overs courtesy of Indian recruit Jatin Saxena (91) and ajjad Hossain (50), after they opted to bat first.
The 34-year old Jatin cracked 11 boundaries and five over boundaries during his 50-ball stay and shared breezy 76-run opening stand with Jony Talukder who chipped away 18, runs.
Later Irfan Sukkur (34) Rakin Ahmed (25) and Sazzadul Haque (24) steered their side to post a challenging target for Rupganj.
National discard Syed Rasel was the pick of Rupganj bowler as he grabbed four wickets conceding 38 runs. He was well supported by Mosharraf Hossain who claimed three wickets conceding 54.

Ayub, Nafees secure victory for Doleshwar
BSS, Dhaka
Steered by magnificent centuries by Marshal Ayub and Shahriar Nafees enabled Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club to earn a four-wicket victory over defending champions Abahani Limited in the tenth round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Saturday at BKSP ground no 3 in Savar.
Chasing a winning target of 247 runs, Doleshawar reached home in 47.1 overs with four wickets in hand.
Ayub hit nine boundaries and one over boundaries during his 94-ball stay on the crease and shared 89-run third wicket stand with Nafees who contributed 69 runs off 78 balls laced with three over boundaries and three boundaries to take their team closer to the victory.
Jaker Ali (37) and Imtiaz Hossain (29) were the other notable scorers for Doleshawar.
Abu Jayed wa the most successful bowler for Abahani as he grabbed three wickets conceding 64 runs.
Marshal Ayub of Doleshwar was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
Earlier, Aifif Hossain fell six-run short from century but defending champions Abahani Limited managed to score a decent total of 246 for 7 from their allotted 50 overs, after they opted to bat first.
The left handed batsman Afif hailed form Khulna hit ten boundaries and three over boundaries during his 106-ball stay on the crease, after Abahani Limited slipped to 50 for 4.
Later late surge from Manan Sharma (37n.o) and M Saifuddin (21n.o) helped Abahani to post a competitive total in the end.
Arafat Sunny bagged two wickets conceding 34 runs.
