The last Friday of Ramadan is known as ‘Jumatul Wida’. The Arabic word ‘Juma’ in Bengali means Friday and ‘Wida’ means end. Jumatul Wida means last Friday. Devout Muslims are observing the day in Chittagong on Friday through Ibadat-Bandegi and Zikir-Askar.
After the Friday prayers, the worshipers prayed for forgiveness and mercy in the court of Allah Almighty. Farewell greetings are given to the holy month of Ramadan for one year through Jumatul Bida. Worshipers perform Friday prayers at various mosques including Jamiatul Falah Mosque, Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque, Nawab Wali Beg Khan Jame Mosque, Sheikh Bahar Ullah Shahi Jame Mosque, Chandanpura Jame Mosque.
In the khutbah, special prayers were offered explaining the virtues of Ramadan and the importance of worship. At the end of the prayers, special prayers were offered for the welfare of the country and the nation and for the unity and peace of the Muslim Ummah, as well as for the protection of all from the Corona epidemic. Since Friday prayers must be performed with the congregation, there is no provision for reciting them alone. On this day, the faith of Muslims is gathered. There is a time on this day when the prayers and worship of the believing servant are specially accepted by Allah. This is the time of the second sermon from the time of Azan to before sunset.
In a hadith narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Surely your Lord has said that the reward for every good deed of the children of Adam is ten to seven hundred times except fasting.
On this day Hazrat Adam (AS) was created and on this day he was admitted to Paradise and on this day he was sent to earth. And there is a time in this day when a Muslim praying while praying must be accepted (Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 491). Jumatul Bida is very important as the last chance to accept the definite prayers on Friday while fasting in the month of Ramadan
