Speakers on Saturday stressed the need for public-private partnership to ensure participation of the government as well as the people to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
They also emphasized for giving similar importance of both the public and private partnership and ensure effective participation of all the stake holders such as the local government, the mass media, civil society men and commoners in preparing plan and implementation process to achieve the SDG.
Equity and Justice Working Group organized a discussion on SDG at Jatiya Press Club this morning.
Among others, general secretary of the organization Syed Aminul Haque, Shramik Jote president Mesbah Uddin Ahmed and Jatiya Krishok Federation leader Zayed Iqbal, spoke on the occasion.
“Bangladesh has taken different techniques to achieve the 17 targets of SDG. Different ministries are now working on it and the government is set to prepare an evaluation report to find out Bangladesh’s position in different index of achieving SDG and it will be presented at the meeting on the United Nations next June,” the speakers said.
