Vested quarter hatching conspiracy: Power plant to be implemented in Banshkhali keeping interests of locals : S Alam

Chairman of S.Alam Group Saiful Alam Masud and one of the business magnates of the country said, the long -cherished coal-fired power plant will be built in Banskhali complying with the existing policy of the environment and sustaining the interests of the local residents and bio-diversity. S.Alam is the entrepreneur of the power plant.
 He disclosed it at a view exchange meeting held at a city posh hotel at Askerdighi area in city with the elderly people of Banskhali, land owners, local representatives on Friday evening.
He said , Banskhali Upazila will be identified across the world centring the proposed power plant. He said a vested quarter is conspiring against the Banskhali centring the issue of power plant which means the jeopardizing the total development of Chittagong.
He also disclosed that Tk.20 thousands crore will be spent in this project jointly funded by S.Alam Group and a Chinese construction company.
He also declared to compensate the victim’s family withTk.10 lakh each and at the same the injured will be funded for treatment and their successors will be provided with employment in his enterprises.
 Mr. Masud said to witness the affects of the coal- fired power plants of India and China , a team comprising the residents of Banskhali will be sent to India and China very shortly .
 The local residents will finalise the names of the team members to visit the coal plant in these countries.
 One land owner of Gandamara Rubel Fhowdhury said maximum facilities are being availed by the brokers of the land and those are in the movement got fair price.
 He also mentioned that former chairman of Gandamara UP Liaquat Ali is leading the movement aimed at availing further benefits. An UP member of Gandamara Riwanul Hoque said if the project is implemented , 20% loss may be occurred rather 80% benefits for Banshkhali and we will give allout cooperation to S.Alam .
Among others, Director of S.Alam Group Shahidul Islam, Executive Director Subrata Kumar, local elite Haji Nowsha Miah, FF Commander and former Gandamara UP chairman Sirajdoulla Chowdhury, former president of Union BNP Nurul Absar Chowdhury, President of Gandamara Union AL Master Shamsul Alam and nine UP members of Gandamara were present on the occasion.
