The flight operations at Shah Amanat International Airport here came back to normal on Wednesday morning two hours after power outage.
Sources at the airport said around 6.00am, the electricity supply distribution panel of the airport hanged due to technical glitch, causing the situation.
As a result, the entire area of the airport plunged into darkness, bringing all activities at the airport to a halt.
Wing commander Nur-e-Alam, manager of the airport, said hanging of the electricity supply distribution panel led to severe delay in the operation of two flights of international airways at the airport. Power was restored around 8:30am after two and a half hours’ disruption.
A flight of Oman Airways from Muscat, which was scheduled at 8.30am, reached the airport at 8:43 am while the flight ‘ US Bangla’ scheduled at 8.30am was rescheduled for later.
