The ‘Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provision) (Amendment) Bill, 2015’, allowing the extension of its some provisions for another four years, was passed in the House by voice vote on Tuesday.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid piloted the bill in the House, proposing extension of another eight years in the construction of power plants for ensuring quick supply of power and energy in the country.
With the passage of the amended Bill, the Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provision) Act-2010 which was supposed to expire in 2018, will remain in force till 2022.
