Poura elections: Poura electioneering gains momentum in Narsingdi

Electioneering in Narsingdi Pourashava under Narsingdi district headquarter has reached momentum as the aspirants are now moving door to door for votes in the election to be held on December 30.
The candidates along with their supporters are holding meetings in nine wards of Narsingdi Pourashava. They are also making different pledges to develop the pourashava and take initiatives to improve people’s living standard.
Local people and officials said the candidates both for the posts of mayor and councilor are making electioneering campaign by reaching to the door-steps of the voters, xchanging pleasantries with the voters, enquiring the voters’ well-beings and requesting them to cast their votes for ensuring electoral victory of the candidates.
Makings are being held from 2p.m. to 8p.m everyday for the same purposes.
Leaflets containing election pledges and candidate’s views regarding development of the areas are being distributed among the voters.
A total of 6 candidates are contesting for Mayoral post of them, 47 parson are contesting in councilor post and 15 for the post of reserved for women Councilor.  
The mayor candidates are : Kamruzzaman Kamrul (AL), Sayful Islam Shohel (BNP), S.M. Kaiyum (Independent), Sadequr Rahman (JP), Farzana Akter (NPP) and Siddiqur Rahman (Independent).
