Every nook and corner of the 10 municipalities of the district wore a festive look as the municipality election campaigns are nearing to close.
All 10 municipalities of the district have been vibrating with high-voltage polls campaign by the respective mayor and councilor candidates. Mayor and councilor candidates of the respective municipalities exchanged views with the locals and urged them to give them a chance to turn the respective municipalities into standard ones.
 During their election campaigns, candidates from both the major parties, claimed that mass support was swelling in favour of them as they worked for the welfare of the poursavha residents. On the Other hand councillor aspirants of 10 municipalities also spent a busy day campaign.
A total of 34 mayoral candidates, 415 ward councilors including 77 female (reserved) councilors are now in the race for polls in 10 municipalities in Chittagong districts to be held on December 30.
Govt conspiring to snatch victory of paddy shief :BNP :Member Secretary of the Divisional Poura Election Monitoring Cell and organizing secretary of BNP central committee Golam Akbar Khondakar alleged that govt and the ruling party are conspiring to snatch the victory of the paddy sheif in next poura election scheduled to be held on December 30 next.
 He also fears about the fair and neutural polls and to exercise the voting rights of the people. He disclosed it while leading the election campaign in favour of Rangamati pour mayor candidate Saiful Islam Bhutto . President of Rangamati BNP unit Shah Alam presided the road rally after completion of campaign at Rangamati sadar on Saturday .President of Jubodal Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal was present in the election campaign, a Rangamati sources said. The BNP central leader called upon all BNP leaders and workers to remain present in the polling centres till counting of the votes. Among others, BNP leaders Adovcate Dipen Dewan, MahbuburRahman Shamim, Rabindra Lal chakma, Col.Monish Dewan, Prof. Yonus chowdhury, genral secretary ofRangamati BNP Dipen Talukder also spoke in the road rally, sources said.
