Posmi Sweaters has started month-long “Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP)” training programme titled “Fire Safety and Compliance” at Spectra Sweaters Ltd from 8th August, 2015.
The motive behind this training programme is to prepare employees for dealing with disasters such as sudden fire, electricity, and earthquake hazards, and making them aware of standard industry regulations, practices, and compliance.
A total of 18 modules will be covered under the initiative. Over the next 30 days, 56 hours will be invested behind the entire programme.
A total 40 employees from Posmi Sweaters Ltd., Spectra Sweaters Ltd., and Fame Sweaters Ltd. have taken part in it.
The training programme is jointly funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
ADB not only funds the project, but also monitors its progress. BGMEA is responsible for conducting the training programs of all its member factories, and preparing course module for them.
