Poor in Dakshin Surma get help from UP

Spray machine, bicycle, school bag were distributed among the village poor and meritorious students at Lalabazar Union parishad in Dakshin Surma of Sylhet on Wednesday.
Lalabazar Union Parishad Chairman Pir Fayjul Haque Iqbal distributed bicycles among village farmers of the unions of the upzila. He also gave 20 more bicycles to the poor meritorious students, 200 spray machine of the farmer and 500 bags among the school and college students of Lalabazar Union.
UP Member Foyjul Hossain Foyla, Helal Uddin, Siraj Ahmed, Hasna Akther, The New Nation Sylhet Bureau Chief SA Shofiee, UP Secretary Khairul Hossain and many students were present in the program among others.
A guardian Mahmod Ali said, ‘We are very happy getting bicycles; before we had to spend huge money to go to Union Parishad and other places. Now we can save the money which we used to spend as transportation cost and spend them to the education cost of our children’.
A student Arafath Khan told that as they belong to needy families, they are very happy and grateful to get bicycles, umbrellas and school bags.
