The Department of Environment (DoE) Barishal divisional office on Tuesday noon seized a truck laden with banned polythene sealed off a godown in Bazar Road area of Barishal city.
Abdul Halim , Director DOE, Barishal Divisional Office, acknowledging the fact, said we seized 3000 kg of banned polythene from a truck (Dhaka Metro, Ta-132687) and searching different godowns at Bazar Road and Chawak Bazar areas, sealed a goodown after finding 5000 kg polythene there.
The owner of the godown and driver, helper of the truck managed to flee from the scene.
Arefin Badal deputy director DoE Barishal office, said a case was preparing against the truck driver and godown owner.
