Polytechnic student stabbed dead in Cox’s Bazar

A student of polytechnic institute was stabbed to death over a trifling matter in Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased, Sabilus Salehin Sabil (18), son of Hakim Ullah of Muhuripara in Jhilangja union, was a second-semester student of Cox’s Bazar Government Polytechnic Institute.
Sabil engaged in a scuffle with one Mohammad Hossain of South
Janarghona area over buying medicine from a pharmacy owned by his father in South Muhuripara area this noon, Md Selim Uddin, inspector (Operation) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station, said quoting locals and witnesses.
At one stage, Hossain stabbed Sabil with a knife, leaving him injured seriously. Later, the locals rushed Sabil to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead, he said quoting locals and duty doctor at the hospital.
Later in the day, police arrested Hossain’s elder brothers Mohammad Jubayer, Mohammad Rafiq.

and cousin Mohammad Yasin in connection with the incident, the inspector said adding the law enforcers are conducting drive to arrest Hossain.
