Staff Reporter :
The Government is yet to formulate contractual appointment policy to remove anomalies.
In order to make the administrative recruitment dynamic and impartial, the policy of contractual appointment needs quick formulation.
In absence of such policy, contractual appointment of defense officials in public administration disappoints the regular administrative service holders.
On the issue, the State Minister of Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadek said “Some officials are appointed on contract on emergency basis, the Government is thinking to formulate policy on contractual appointment,”.
On the other hand, Public Administration Officials are saying that after retirement from the service, loyal officials are managing such jobs by lobbying, as a result, many qualified regular government officials are being deprived.
Generally, government officials after retirement are employed in such posts by cancelling post retirement leave (PRL) and there are examples of contractual employment of the officials who retired few years earlier.
According to the Public Administration Officials, in more than 500 posts of Government jobs contractual appointments were given.
Due to such contractual appointment, debate among government officials are intensifying and complexities are growing, though none seems to express grievance publicly, said a Public Administration Official.
Ismat Ara Sadek also said “There is contractual appointment of government officials still in the country, depending on the requirement for the post,”
“There is no mandate that some one have to be appointed contractually, We are planning to formulate the policy for contractual employment soon,” she added.
