An sporadic clash including chase , counter chase between police and the workers of a garments factory occurred in Bazid area in city on Thursday morning leave 12 injured including policemen.
The incident occurred at Textile crossing under Baizid thana following the termination of two supervisors of Chowdhury Apparells of textile crossing . Police sources said supervisors Mohiuddin and Md.Monir was dismissed from service and centring the dismissal of service, the clash broke out.
In the clash with the workers, officer incharge of Baizid thana Md. Mohsin and other 8 police members were injured , sources said.
The agitated workers of the RMG factory put siege on road infront of textile crossing sensing the news of dismissal of services of two supervisors and traffic movement was suspended for some time. Sensing the agitation, Baizid thana police accompanied by Industrial police stormed on the spot.
The workers hurled brickbats, stones towards police men left 8 policemen injured .Police instantly hurled 4 rounds tear gas and lathi charge to disperse the mob . After half an hour the situation brought under control , sources said. One indusrial police was admitted in chittagong medical college hospital, hospital sources said.
