Police yesterday recovered the body of a Rajshahi University student from a campus dormitory fearing the event to be a case of murder as it carried marks of severe injuries.
“The injury marks indicate that he was murdered. The autopsy, however, would ascertain the cause of the death,” Rajshahi Metropolitan Police’s (RMP) deputy commissioner Amir Zafar told newsmen.
University officials earlier said employees of the Nawab Abdul Latif Hall found 20-year-old Motaleb Hossain Lipu’s body lying in a gutter behind the dining room of the dormitory at around 8 am and called police for subsequent actions.
“Lipu was a second year student of Mass Communication and Journalism department and resident of the dormitory,” RU Proctor Prof Mujibul Haque Azad said.
