Staff Reporter :
Jatiya Oikyafront (JOF) top leader and Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain on Monday claimed that the police have been playing a biased role after declaration of the 11th Parliamentary election schedule to be held on December 30.
It’s not possible to hold fair election if police administration do not play an impartial role.
Dr Kamal said this while he was talking to British High Commissioner Alison Blake at his residence in the city’s Baily Road on Monday afternoon.
“We have not seen the fair election atmosphere under the present government. The JOF leaders placed seven-point demands, including impartial government, to arrange a level playing field for all parties that could not meet in the recent days,” he said.
We have informed the details over the environment situation to the British High Commissiner during the traditional meet in the afternoon, he added.
Replying to a query over police role, Sohel Rana, Assistant Inspector General (Media and PR) of the Police Headquarters, told The New Nation on Monday evening, “Police are performing the professional duty as per legal code.”
