The New Age’s Jessore Correspondent Saifur Rahman Saif was humiliated by a police official on the main entry of Jessore Press Club at around 3:30pm on Tuesday.
Sub inspector Wahiduzzaman of Kotwali police used obscene words towards the journalist while he was entering the press club during an indoor meeting of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Dr Abdul Main Khan was the Chief Guest at the meeting arranged by Jessore Town Unit BNP marking the birth anniversary of its senior vice-president Tareque Rahman. The police also intercepted BNP men to enter the press club, venue of the meeting. SM Tauhidur Rahman, General Secretary, Jessore Press Club informed the matter to district police authority.
