Staff Reporter :The members of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a drive arrested a Swechchhasebak League (SL) leader on charge of abduction of a businessman from the city’s Mohammadpur area on Saturday.The arrested man was identified as Mohammad Abdul Latif, Convener of Mohammadpur unit of The SL, said Jamal Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station.The family members claimed that detectives could not ensure whereabouts’ the arrested man.They also demanded the police to produce him any court of the country. Contacted, Iftekharul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said that DB did not arrest any Swecchasebak League leader yesterday. “No one claimed to the DMP about the arrest,” the Police official said. He also said that no general diary or case has been filed with any police station under DMP about the businessman abduction.
