Election Commission in a directives asked the Chittagong Metropolitan police authority to install police checkpost with CCTV cameras in the vulnerable and important entry point of the city before the mayoral polls scheduled to be held on April 28 .
Following the EC directives, CMP authority detected 8 important points in the city and decided to install checkposts and CCTV cameras there. Additional police commissioner of CMP Banaj Kumar Majumder told the New Nation that they have received a written directive in connection from the EC yesterday.
Mentionable that Police commissioner also visited local EC office recently and discussed the matter with the Returning Officer Md. Baten at latter’s office .
EC has taken this measures for smooth functioning of the election activities aimed at resisting any sorts of violence or anarchy by the miscreants from outside .
