5th AHF Cup: Bangladesh champions

Bangladesh National Hockey team became champions of the 5th AHF Cup defeating Sri Lanka National Hockey team by three goals to nil in the final in Hong Kong of China on Sunday.
Thus Bangladesh clinched the title for three times. Earlier, Bangladesh emerged as the champions of this meet in 2008 in Singapore and again in 2012 in Thailand.
Bangladesh led the first half 1-0.
Jubair Hasan Niloy put his team ahead by a field goal in the 22nd minute of the play.
After the intermission, Ashraful Islam made it 2-0 using a penalty corner in the 61st minute of the game.
Kamruzzaman put the last nail on Sri Lanka’s coffin capitalizing a penalty corner just three minutes before the long whistle.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start defeating Hong Kong of China by 4-2 goals in their opening match of Pool-A at the same venue on November 19.
Bangladesh confirmed their semi-final berth beating Chinese Taipei by 4-2 goals in their second Pool-A match at the same venue on November 21.
Bangladesh emerged as the Pool-A champions crushing Macau of China by 13-0 goals in their last Pool-A match at the same venue on November 23.
Bangladesh stormed into the final thrashing Singapore by eight goals to nil in the semi-final at the same venue on November 26.
