Police ASI found dead in Pabna

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Pakshi Police Outpost found dead at a jungle behind the North Bengal Paper Mill in Pakshi upazila of Pabna district on Monday morning. The police official was missing since 8:00pm on Sunday,
The victim was identified as Sujaul Islam, 35, hailing from Bogra, said Sheikh Mohammad Abu Zahid Assistant Superintendent of Police (Ishwardi circle).
He said that police rushed to the spot following information and recovered the body around 8:00am with the victim’s hands and legs tied up.
The police official said that Sujaul’s cellphone was found switched off since he went missing on Sunday night.
Police suspected that miscreants strangulated him and dumped the body in the field, he said.
A three-member probe body was formed led by Additional SP Siddiqul Alm, said, Biman Kumar Das, Officer-in Charge (OC) Ishwardi Police Station.
Police are investigating the matter and trying to arrest the killers, the OC said.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection.
The body was handed over to the family members of the victim, the police official said.
