Police allowed to quizz Naser in jail gate

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Thursday allowed police to interrogate Swadhinata Forum President and BNP leader Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah at the jail gate during two working days.
Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan of the CMM Court also rejected the bail petition of Abu Naser and the remand plea of Dhanmondi Police Station. Later, the court passed orders to send him to the jail.
 The Investigation Officer of the case, who filed the case for torching a vehicle belonging to Jamuna Television, sought a seven-day remand on Thursday afternoon to interrogate BNP leader Abu Naser. The alleged incident of torching the vehicle occurred in the morning of January 20.
Police picked up Abu Naser from Dhanmondi area on Wednesday. However, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station told The New Nation on Wednesday evening that “Though we have arrested him, he was shown arrested in any specific case”.
