Department of English of Chittagong Independent University (CIU) organized a workshop titled `Poetry Workshop` at the American Corner Chittagong recently. It was conducted by the eminent poet and translator, Prof Kaiser Haq.
The venue was overflowing with enthusiastic students of the Department of English while Prof Kaiser Haq discussed rhetoric and the easiest way of identifying meter and rhyme of a poem through various activities. He also rewarded some of the students for their good performances.
The workshop concluded with Prof Haq’s recitation of his two renowned poems, `Ode on Lungi` and `Durga Puja`. Prof Quazi Mostain Billah, Dean of SLASS, Charmain Rodrigues, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English, all the faculty members and students of the Department of English were present for the occasion.
