Ekushey Padak winning poet Belal Chowdhury died at a city hospital on Tuesday. He was 79.
The prominent poet breathed his last at 12:30pm at Anwar Khan Modern Hospital in
Dhanmondi, Abdullah Pratik Chowdhury, eldest son of the poet, told UNB.
The first namaz-e-janza of the poet was held at Paltan Mosque after Maghrib prayer on Tuesday, said Mohammad Samad, president of Kabita Parishad.
