Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit the flood-hit haor areas of Sunamganj district on April 30 (Sunday).
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit flashflood-hit haor areas of northeastern district of Sunamganj on April 30 tosee for herself the flood situation there,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told UNB on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, an emergency meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office of Sunamganj on Wednesday evening to take necessary preparations for the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister.
Flashflood triggered by heavy rainfall and the onrush of water from the upstream have submerged all haors of the district, damaging huge Boro crops.
